MyTravelPhoto is a small personal project, not a company. These terms are written to be read, not to be survived.

Your photographs are yours to use

If you were given an album code, the photographs in that album are yours. You may download them, print them, frame them, share them with family and friends, and post them wherever you like. There is no charge, no license to sign, and no watermark on what you download.

A credit — “photo by Derek Malone” — is genuinely appreciated when you post one publicly, but it is not required.

The one thing I ask

Please don’t resell the photographs or license them to a business for advertising. I retain copyright in the images, and commercial use by third parties isn’t covered by what’s granted here. If a brand wants to use a photo of you, send them to me.

How albums work

• An album is reachable only with the eight-character code printed on your card. Treat that code like a key: anyone who has it can see and download the album.
• Albums are not listed anywhere on this site and are excluded from search engines.
• An album may carry an expiry date. Once it passes, the album is archived and the code stops working — but the originals still exist, so write to me and I’ll send them over.
• I may archive an album to keep the site tidy. That never means your photographs are gone.

Candid photography

The photographs here are made candidly, in public places, without staging or direction. The privacy policy explains how I approach that in detail, including the limits I set for myself.

Removing your photographs

If you’d rather not be on this site, tell me and I’ll take the photographs down — no explanation required and no argument from me. The removal request form is the fastest route, and the privacy policy sets out the timeline I hold myself to.

Fair use of the site

Please don’t:

• Guess at album codes or run automated attempts against them.
• Scrape, hotlink or mirror photographs from the site.
• Interfere with the service or try to reach albums you weren’t given a code for.

Download endpoints are rate-limited, and access is checked on every request. Abuse simply gets blocked.

If downloads ever cost money

Everything is free today, and any album that is free stays free. If I ever charge for full-resolution downloads on new albums, the price will be shown clearly before you pay, payment will be handled by Stripe, and a purchase permanently entitles you to re-download those files. If a purchased download doesn’t work, tell me and I’ll fix it or refund you.

No warranty, sensibly stated

The site is provided as it is. I run it carefully and keep backups, but I can’t promise it will never be down and I can’t be liable for indirect losses arising from its use. Nothing here limits any right you have that can’t be limited by law.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Changes are not applied retroactively to photographs already given to you.
